3. What personal data do we collect and why?

3.1 When you make a purchase
When you place an order we collect your name, delivery and billing address, email address, telephone number and country of residence. We use this information to process your order, handle returns and exchanges, and communicate with you about your purchase. The legal basis is the performance of our contract with you. We may also use your contact details to send you information about our products and offers for up to 12 months after your latest purchase — you can opt out at any time.

3.2 Payment details
Card payments are processed securely by Shopify Payments. For Qliro Pay Later, your details are handled directly by Qliro in accordance with their terms. We do not store full payment details in our systems.

3.3 Purchase history

We store information about your purchases and returns for 36 months after the date of purchase, in order to handle any returns, exchanges or complaints efficiently. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in providing efficient after-purchase service.

3.4 Newsletter subscribers

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we process your name, email address and country in order to send you the newsletter. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in being able to communicate with people who have signed up to receive our newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any newsletter or by contacting customer@garboandfriends.com. We will send you the newsletter until you unsubscribe.

3.5 Customer service
If you contact us with a question, complaint or return request, we store the email or conversation for as long as necessary to handle your matter, and for follow-up within 12 months. The legal basis may be our contractual obligations to you or our legitimate interest in being able to communicate with individuals who contact our customer service.

3.6 Technical data

When you visit our website, we may automatically collect technical information about your device and browsing patterns, including your IP address, browser type and version, time zone settings, and pages visited. This data is collected using cookies and server logs. For more information, please see our Cookie Policy.

3.7 Anonymized data

We may use anonymized and aggregated data for internal analysis and to improve our products and services. This data cannot be used to identify you.

3.8 Consent and withdrawal
By reading this Privacy Policy you confirm that you have read and understood its content. Where the legal basis for processing your personal data is your consent, you agree to Garbo&Friends' processing in accordance with this policy. Should you wish to object to or withdraw your consent to any processing, please contact us at customer@garboandfriends.com. Please note that your withdrawal will not affect our right to process your data where such processing is necessary to perform our contractual obligations to you, or where we are required to process your data by law, to defend ourselves in a dispute, or to prevent fraud or abuse.

4. Do we share your data with others?

Garbo&Friends does not sell or rent your personal data to any third party. We may share your data with trusted suppliers who perform services on our behalf — such as order fulfilment, shipping, payment processing, email distribution and customer database management. These suppliers process your data solely on our behalf and in accordance with our instructions. We do not authorise any supplier to use your data for their own purposes.
If Garbo&Friends is subject to an actual or potential merger, acquisition or similar transaction, we may share your data with potential and actual buyers and their advisers, subject to those parties undertaking appropriate confidentiality obligations.

5. Transfer of data outside the EU/EEA

Some of our suppliers may process your data in countries outside the EU/EEA. Please note that many countries outside the EU/EEA have not been recognised by the European Commission as providing an adequate level of protection for personal data. In some cases, an adequacy decision applies, meaning your data may be transferred without further authorisation. In all other cases, Garbo&Friends takes appropriate safeguards to ensure that the receiving parties provide adequate protection — such as requiring them to sign Standard Contractual Clauses adopted by the European Commission. You can contact us at customer@garboandfriends.com if you would like more information about the safeguards in place.

6. Your rights

You have the following rights under applicable data protection law. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at customer@garboandfriends.com. Please note that if you wish to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, you must contact that authority directly.
– Right of access — you can request confirmation of whether we process data about you and, if so, receive a copy of that data along with information about the purpose, categories and retention period.
– Right of rectification — you can request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
– Right of erasure — you can request erasure of your personal data when: it is no longer necessary for the purpose it was collected; you withdraw your consent and there is no other legal basis; you object and there is no overriding legitimate interest; the data has been unlawfully processed; or erasure is required by law.
– Right to restrict processing — you can request that we restrict the processing of your personal data in certain circumstances.
– Right to object — you can object at any time to our processing of your data for direct marketing purposes, including profiling related to such marketing. We will cease such processing upon your objection.
– Right to data portability — where processing is based on your consent or our contract with you, you can request your data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format.
– Right to lodge a complaint — if you believe we are processing your data unlawfully, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY) or the supervisory authority in your country of habitual residence or the place of the alleged infringement.

7. How do I unsubscribe from newsletters and marketing emails?

You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email we send, or by contacting customer@garboandfriends.com.

8. How long do we keep your data?

We retain your personal data for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy. Purchase-related data is retained for 36 months after the date of purchase. We will also retain your data for as long as required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.

9. Is it mandatory to provide personal data?

When you place an order, mandatory fields are marked with an asterisk (*). Without this information we are unable to process your order.

10. Children's privacy

Garbo&Friends does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 16. If you are under 18, please ensure you have your parent's or guardian's consent before making a purchase or providing any personal data to us.

11. Cookies

We use cookies on our website. Please see our separate Cookie Policy for details.
